The creation of The PAN Permaculture Educators’ Pledge, was a 3+ year participatory process, convened by the Permaculture Association of the Northeast (PAN formerly know as PINE). This 1-page document was distilled from many meetings, conversations, convergences, phone calls, scribbled notes, retreats and late night talks around the fire as our network grappled with how we, as a grassroots movement honor and embody our ethics as we grow and how we do this as a network for the network rather than a top down imposed set of rules and regulations from the outside.
We see this not as a check list, prescription or set of rules to follow but rather an invitation for our learning community to hold spaces that reflect, experiment and model some of the changes we would like to see in the outside world. We hope that this pledge reflects and resonates with your highest intentions for your work.
The PAN Board considers this to be a living document and invite your confidential feedback both on the content of the pledge and how we maintain it’s accountability. We thank all of you who have shaped this work with your time, your feedback, your modeling and desire for earth care, people care and fair share in these times.
We invite you to support PAN and the work of holding integrity and ethics in permaculture education by becoming an early adopter of the pledge. We ask that you are a member of PAN in good standing and submit an administration fee of $25 to help offset our administrative costs. Once we receive the signed pledge and fee we will send you a badge that you can display on your website and promotional materials and list you on our website as a signer of the pledge.
Please read, download, sign or type your name on the pledge and email it to us. You can pay the $25 application fee using the Buy Now button or or mail us a check payable to PAN.
If you are not yet a member you can sign up here for PAN membership. Send the PAN Board confidential feedback on the pledge.
